Varsity Softball team concludes regular season...

The varsity softball team finished the regular season with a strong week. After 2 tough losses (1-0 @ Franklin in 9 innings and 5-4 vs. Preble Shawnee) the team won their first tournament game against East Clinton 10-2. Then the team beat Dixie 16-3 on Thursday and took 2 from Northridge on Friday, 14-0 and 12-3. The team's record is now 9-11 (4-8 in SWBL).

We will be playing in the sectional finals for the 4th straight year on Monday against Waynesville. The game is at Springboro @ 5:00. Tickets for the game will be $5.00.

Sectional Final...

The varsity softball team lost to Blanchester in the sectional final on Thursday, 3-0. Both teams played flawless defense, but we just couldn't get a string of hits necessary to plate a few runs. Our season ends with a 13-12 record, 7-5 in the SWBL.

The team banquet will be Tuesday, May 25th @ 7:00 at Pisanello's Pizza. We will eat pizza and pass out awards.

The sectional final game with Blanchester is now scheduled for Thursday @ 4:00 at Waynesville High School. Varsity softball players will be dismissed at 1:00. We will take batting practice at 1:30 and the bus will be ready to leave around 2:15-2:30.

This week, we played Franklin in our annual "Strike Out Cancer" game where we unfortunately lost 6-4. We did however raise over $300 for cancer research (not counting Franklin's share). On Thursday, we opened tournament play by beating Dayton Christian 4-3. We will now play Blanchester on Monday in the sectional finals. The game will be at 5:00 at Franklin Community Park.

Week 6 was a good one for the Varsity softball team, as we beat Fenwick 9-6 on Tuesday and Eaton 14-2 on Wednesday. Our overall record is now 12-10. We will play Franklin on Monday in our annual "Strike Out Cancer" game. Monday will also be senior day.

On Wednesday, we will open tournament play at home vs. the Greeneview/Dayton Christian winner. The game will be at 5:00. Tickets are $5.00 for the sectional tournament games. If we win on Wednesday, we will play in the sectional finals on Monday 5/17 at Franklin Community Park against the Waynesville/Blanchester winner.

It was a tough week for the Varsity softball team, as we went 1-3. On Tuesday, we lost a close game with Brookville, 4-3. On Wednesday, we beat Dixie 6-2. Thursday brought another very tough loss vs. Waynesville, 3-2. Friday, we lost to Preble Shawnee, 12-6. Our record is now 10-10 and 7-5 in the SWBL Buckeye.

Despite the tough week, we were able to get the #3 seed in the sectional tournament where we will play the winner of Greeneview (#7 seed) vs. Dayton Christian (#8 seed). The Varsity Softball team went 2-2 this week beating Monroe on Monday and Tuesday. On Monday, we won 11-1 and on Tuesday we won 7-4. On Wednesday, we lost to Madison 5-2, and on Thursday we lost to West Carrollton 4-2. Our games on Saturday in Columbus were rained out. Our record is now 9-7 and 6-3 in the SWBL Buckeye.

The JV team went 2-1 this week. They beat Bellbrook on Tuesday and Madison on Wednesday. They lost a rematch with West Carrollton on Thursday. The JV record is now 9-3.

The Varsity softball team went 4-2 in week 3. On Tuesday, we beat Northridge 14-3. Wednesday, we lost to Waynesville 4-2, but bounced back with a nice win on Thursday, beating CJ, 2-1. On Friday, we beat Northridge 29-2. On Saturday, we split a double header with National Trail, winning the first game 6-5 and losing the second game 8-5. The Varsity record after week 3 is 7-5.

The JV team went 4-1 in week 3. They lost to West Carrollton on Monday. They bounced back, beating Northridge on Tuesday and Waynesville on Wednesday. They swept their double header on Saturday against National Trail. After week 3, the JV record stands at 7-2.

The Varsity softball team defeated Preble Shawnee on Tuesday in an exciting 4-3 league win. On Friday, the team lost to Madison 8-2, and on Saturday, the team lost 2 to Twin Valley South...13-0 and 1-0. The Varsity record is now 3-3 and 2-1 in the SWBL Buckeye. The JV team defeated Preble Shawnee and Madison, running their record to 3-1.

Coming up this week, the Varsity plays Northridge on Tuesday, Waynesville on Wednesday, CJ on Thursday, @ Northridge on Friday, and National Trial (DH) on Saturday.

The JV team plays West Carrollton on Monday, @ Northridge on Tuesday, @ Waynesville on Wednesday, Northridge on Friday, and @ National Trail (DH) on Saturday.

We replaced a doubleheader with Tri-County North on April 24th (they had to cancel) with a 3-way doubleheader in Columbus. We play Westerville Central at 1:00 and Westland at 3:00. JV and Varsity will be going and playing at the same times at the same school...Westland High School.

They will feed our players and coaches between games, and we will eat dinner after our second game. We'll make a day of it!

The varsity softball team lost to a very good Bishop Ready team 7-0 on Thursday in the DIII Regional Semifinals. Despite the loss, the team had an excellent season (18-11 overall) finishing 2nd in the SWBL (9-3) and winning a District Championship. The varsity softball team is District Champions! We beat Miami East in a very exciting district final today at Tipp City Middle School. We jumped out ahead 4-0 with 2 runs in the 2nd and 2 more in the 3rd...but the Vikings from Miami East stormed back in the top of the 7th with 3 runs of their own. With 2 outs and the tying run on third, Stefaney Turner got the Miami East batter to fly out to the center fielder Lexi Murphy for the final out and the championship.

We now play Bishop Ready in the Regional Semifinals at Wright State University on Thursday, May 28 @ 5:00.

The varsity softball team beat Dayton Christian 12-0 on Monday setting up Friday's game with #4 seed Hamilton Badin. In the Badin game, the team took a 4-0 lead into the 6th inning, but allowed the Rams 3 unearned runs. We held on to win 4-3 and now will face Blanchester on Monday in the sectional finals.

On Monday, the varsity softball team lost to Madison 3-0. Tuesday, the team played an excellent game both offensively and defensively, beating Monroe 5-0. Stefaney Turner faced only one more than the minimum 21 batters by pitching a one-hitter. On Friday, Carlisle hosted Dayton Carroll and pulled out the victory 4-1. On Saturday, we hosted Arcanum for a double-header. We won the first game 3-0, but dropped the second game 8-7.

The team finished the regular season 14-10 and 9-3 in the league to finish in 2nd place.

On Monday, we host Dayton Christian at 5:00 in the first round of the Sectional Tournament.

Another successful week...

The Carlisle varsity softball team went 3-0 this week to extend the current winning streak to 6. On Monday, we beat Preble Shawnee 7-2. Stefaney Turner picked up her 8th win of the year as the offense had 10 hits off their #1 pitcher. Tuesday, we beat Northridge 9-1. Desirae Bryant had 8 strikeouts. Against Dixie on Wednesday, the bats were working as the team had 16 hits, including a 4-for-5 effort by Abby Hamilton and a 3-run homerun by Stefaney Turner. We won 12-3.

The team is now 11-8 and 8-2 in the SWBL Buckeye, 2 games behind Madison. Next week we have 2 big league games...Madison on Monday and Monroe on Tuesday.

This Sunday, we will find out who and where we will play in the sectional tournament. The sectional begins on May 11th or 13th, with the sectional finals on the 15th. Click on the link to the right to see dates and times.

The varsity softball team went 3-1 this week and is currently on a 3-game winning streak. On Wednesday, the team lost a to a very good Madison team 3-1. We rebounded on Thursday with a 4-1 win at Waynesville. On Friday, we beat Monroe 7-6 in 8 innings, and on Saturday we beat Franklin 6-3 in a "Strike Out Cancer" game. The varsity softball team went 2-0 in the league this week, beating Waynesville (9-5) and Northridge (15-5). We are now 3-1 in the SWBL with 3 big league games coming up this week.

In nonleague play the team lost to a good West Carrollton team on Thursday (4-3), and split a double header with National Trail on Saturday. We won the first game 7-2, but lost the second 13-9. The team is 5-7 overall.

The JV team went 1-1 during the week, losing to West Carrollton on Thursday and defeating Northridge on Friday.

Great time in Myrtle Beach...

While it was snowing here in Carlisle, the varsity softball team had a great time in Myrtle Beach. The team played some tough competition in the Grand Strand Softball Classic, going 1-4.

Everyone had a blast going to the pool, the beach, and out to eat. We had three team nights, including dinner at the Carolina Roadhouse, a cookout at Coach Shelton's, and a round of putt-putt at Treasure Island. I just want to thank all of the parents who were willing to go on this trip...without you, we would not have been able to pull it off. Also, thanks to the Shelton's for inviting everyone to their house in Holden Beach.

The varsity softball team finished Week 1 with one win and one loss. On Monday, we lost to Preble Shawnee 10-0. On Wednesday, we beat Dixie 8-3. Stefaney Turner got the win to even her record at 1-1. Elizabeth McKinney led the team with 4 RBIs. The JV team lost at Dixie on Wednesday, 27-7.

Now we're off to Myrtle Beach to play in the Grand Strand Softball Classic...5 games in 5 days.

We will sell them until Friday, Oct. 17. Everyone's order form is due on that day. Be sure to have all checks made payable to: Carlisle Athletic Boosters.

We will make the subs on Saturday, Oct. 25 in the high school commons from 9:00 - 12:00. We need players, parents, and coaches to make all of the subs in an assembly line. We will deliver the subs that weekend or on Monday.

The Carlisle Softball team defeated East Clinton on Thursday 10-0 in five innings. Desirae Bryant got the win after facing only 18 batters and giving up only 2 hits and 1 walk. The Indians await the winner of the Badin/Blanchester game for the sectional final. Their game was postponed until Friday. The date and time of the sectional final will most likely be announced on Friday.

The Carlisle softball team finished 2nd this year behind the Madison Mohawks. The regular season record was 13-12 overall and 8-4 in the league. The JV team finished an impressive season at 16-1 with their only loss coming to Madison. Congratulations to both teams and all of the coaches.

The varsity starts tournament play on Wednesday versus East Clinton. The game will be at 3:30 at Waynesville.

The Indians softball team received a #3 seed in the Div. III Dayton Sectional. Their first game will be versus #9 seed East Clinton on Wednesday 5/14 @ 3:30 at Waynesville High School. Carlisle went 2 and 2 this past week, beating Twin Valley South and Preble Shawnee while losing to Madison and Eaton. The team is 11-11 and 6-3 in the SWBL Buckeye Div. which places them in 2nd place behind Madison. The sectional tournament draw is on Sunday and the Indians are hoping to receive a top 4 seed and a good draw.

The JV team continues to have a great season winning 2 more games this week. They defeated Madison (avenging their only loss of the season) and Eaton, which makes their record 14-1.

Softball team goes 3 and 3 for the week.

The team defeated Northridge, Clinton Massie, and Springboro while losing to Monroe, Milton Union and Springboro (second game of Saturday's double header). The team's record is 9-9 and 5-2 in the SWBL, which places the Indians in second place behind Madison.

The JV softball team is now 9-1 on the season with the only loss coming to Madison on Monday. The girls beat West Carrollton on Thursday and Bellbrook on Friday in extra innings.

Monday, the softball team took Madison into the bottom of the ninth inning, but lost 6-5. The loss was the team's first loss in the SWBL. Wednesday, the Indians won vs. National Trail. The team exploded in the fourth inning for 8 runs and went on to run-rule the Trailblazers 13-2. Thursday, the team faced a nice pitcher and team from West Carrollton and lost 5-0. Friday, the Indians lost a tough game to Bellbrook, 10-6. The team's record is 6-6 and 4-1 in the SWBL, which places the Indians in second place behind Madison.

The next game is on Monday @ Northridge.

Carlisle is going into a big game with Madison on Monday undefeated (4-0) in the SWBL. They defeated Waynesville 1-0, Northridge 11-1, and Dixie 18-6 last week. In non-league action, the girls lost to Valley View 10-0 on Tuesday and lost two great games with Little Miami on Saturday. The first game was decided in the bottom of the 7th...10-9, and the second game ended up 16-14. The team's overall record is 5-3.

Stefaney Turner was named the Subway "High School Athlete of the Week." Stef is 2-0 as a starting pitcher so far this season, and she is batting .800 with two doubles and two RBIs.
